The precincts, and the towers inside them
Al Reem is not one development but several, built by different companies, and the precinct name is usually more useful than the tower name alone. Shams Abu Dhabi, Marina Square, City of Lights, Najmat Abu Dhabi and Shams Gate each have their own internal road loops.
Marina Square occupies the western edge — eleven towers looking across to Al Maryah Island, with Paragon Bay Mall attached at the base. Give us the tower name and we find the right podium entrance instead of circling the loop.
Shams Abu Dhabi carries the island's most recognisable outlines: the Gate Towers and The Arc, and the twin elliptical Sun and Sky Towers either side of Boutik Mall. Sky Tower runs to 83 floors, so "the tall one" is not something we can act on — floor and unit number matter here more than anywhere else.
City of Lights wraps the canal on the southern side; Najmat Abu Dhabi mixes residential blocks with offices and ground-floor retail. Both are straightforward once we have the building name.
Reception desks, visitor bays and the lobby handover
Most Al Reem towers have a manned lobby, and the simplest handover is at the reception desk. Tell us tower, floor and unit, and we bring it up if the building allows it or call you down if it does not.
Visitor parking is tight outside the malls — residents have basement bays, guests often do not. Where lifts are card-controlled or the visitor bays are full, meeting the driver in the lobby is fastest.
If your entrance is on a service road rather than the main loop, that one line in the order notes saves several minutes.
The bridges, and how the driver gets on
Al Reem connects to Abu Dhabi island by two bridges, and there is a dedicated exit off Shaikh Zayed Street before the tunnel that puts a car straight onto the island. Hazza Bin Zayed Street and 10th Street off Al Falah Street are the alternatives when it backs up.
Al Maryah Island is roughly five minutes away and the Corniche about ten, so a driver already in the city centre is close by definition. Morning rush hour runs against us — the heavy direction is off the island, not onto it.
Reem Mall, Reem Central Park, Boutik Mall and the Repton School and Sorbonne University campuses work as reference points if your building is hard to name.
