TEREA Flavours Guide 2026: Every Flavour Family, Ranked by Intensity

Key takeaways

  • TEREA splits into four flavour families: tobacco, menthol, fruit-menthol, and capsule.
  • By intensity of experience: tobacco (deepest) → capsule (variable) → menthol → fruit-menthol (lightest).
  • The name is a code: colour words mean tobacco or menthol, "Wave" means fruit-menthol, "Pearl" means a crush capsule inside.
  • Every TEREA line with "Pearl" in the name carries a crush capsule — confirmed on 27 of 27 Pearl lines.
  • A flavour name does not identify a product on its own — the same name appears in several national markets, so you also need the origin.
  • TEREA sticks fit IQOS ILUMA and ILUMA i only.
  • We hold stock in Abu Dhabi and deliver instantly — ask us what is in today rather than assuming a name is on the shelf.

What are the four TEREA flavour families?

TEREA divides into four flavour families: tobacco, menthol, fruit-menthol, and capsule. Every TEREA line sold anywhere in the world belongs to one of those four, and once you know which family you are in, the individual name matters far less than people assume.

This is not our own invention. The manufacturer's own national market sites group the range this way — the Israeli site lists a "Tobacco Family" and a "Menthol Family" as separate headings, and the Kuwaiti site sorts its range into Rich, Balanced, Aromatic and Fresh, and Capsules.

The practical value is that families stay stable across markets while names do not. Know your family and you can navigate any market range in seconds.

Family What it is What the pack usually says
Tobacco Roast, wood, nut, cocoa, malt or spice notes. No cooling. A colour or material word — Amber, Sienna, Russet, Teak, Bronze, Silver, Yellow
Menthol Cooling menthol, sometimes with mint or citrus notes. A cool colour word — Blue, Green, Turquoise, Willow
Fruit-menthol Menthol plus a fruit note carried through the whole stick. Usually ends in "Wave" — Mauve Wave, Purple Wave, Ruby Wave
Capsule A base blend plus a crush capsule releasing a second flavour when clicked. Always contains "Pearl" — Oasis Pearl, Twilight Pearl, Sun Pearl

How should TEREA flavours actually be ranked by intensity?

Ranked by intensity of the tobacco experience, the families run in this order: tobacco family deepest, capsule lines variable depending on whether you click, menthol next, and fruit-menthol lightest on the tobacco side because the fruit and the cooling both compete for attention.

That ordering is about character, not a number. The manufacturer does publish an intensity figure on some national sites — the Greek market site shows a numeric intensity per product, in an observed range of 4 to 9 — but those numbers are market-specific.

We do not publish a per-name intensity number, because we could not verify a name-to-number mapping that holds across markets.

Rank Family Intensity of tobacco character Cooling Fruit
1 Tobacco Highest — roast and body is the whole point None None
2 Capsule, unclicked High — base blend only None yet None yet
3 Menthol Moderate — tobacco sits behind the cooling High None
4 Capsule, clicked Moderate — released flavour leads Usually high Yes
5 Fruit-menthol Lowest — tobacco is a backdrop High Yes, throughout

If you like traditional tobacco, which family are you in?

You are in the tobacco family, and it is the largest of the four. These are blends built around roast level and aroma notes — wood, nut, cocoa, malt, tea, spice — with no cooling element at all.

Within the family the names sort roughly by weight, using the manufacturer's own descriptions across the UK, Swiss, Jordanian and Kuwaiti market sites.

  • Russet — robust, rich toasted blend with malty aroma notes. The heaviest end.
  • Bronze — mellow and aromatic, with cocoa and dried-fruit notes.
  • Amber — rounded and toasted, woody and nutty. The middle of the family.
  • Sienna — rounded and toasted, with woody and light tea notes.
  • Teak — balanced and toasted, creamy and nutty.
  • Silver — balanced and toasted, with light spicy-herb notes.
  • Yellow — mellow and aromatic, zesty citrus. The lightest commonly listed.
  • Rigan — refined and spicy, on the Jordanian and Kuwaiti sites.

For more weight, move toward Russet and Bronze; for less, toward Silver and Yellow.

If you prefer menthol, what should you know first?

Start with the menthol family, and understand that TEREA separates pure cooling from cooling plus fruit — those are two different families, and mixing them up is the single most common ordering mistake we see.

The pure menthol lines pair cooling with the tobacco blend and, at most, a mint or citrus note — no fruit.

  • Blue — deep menthol over a mellow blend, with peppermint and, on the Swiss listing, creamy vanilla.
  • Green — balanced cooling over a lightly toasted blend, with green mint notes.
  • Turquoise — crisp cooling over a lightly toasted blend, with subtle zesty notes.
  • Willow — intense cooling with citrus and herb notes, on the Swiss site.

If the pure menthols feel too bare, move to the fruit-menthol family rather than reducing the menthol.

If you enjoy fruit, which TEREA lines carry it?

Fruit reaches you in two completely different ways: the "Wave" lines carry fruit right through the stick, while the "Pearl" lines hold it in a capsule until you click it. Choosing between those two is a choice about control, not about flavour strength.

The Wave lines are the fruit-menthol family, with fruit in the blend from the first puff.

  • Mauve Wave — cooling with dark forest fruit notes.
  • Purple Wave — cooling with dark forest fruit, in Jordan, Kuwait and Indonesia.
  • Ruby Wave — cooling with red berry and floral notes.
  • Bright Wave — cooling with fresh green fruit, on the Indonesian site.
  • Laguna Swift — cooling with rainforest fruit notes, on the Swiss site.

If you want the fruit on demand instead of throughout, you want a Pearl.

What does "Pearl" mean on a TEREA pack?

"Pearl" means the stick contains a crush capsule. Click it and a second flavour — almost always fruit with menthol — releases into the stick. Until you click, you are on the base blend.

This is the most reliable naming rule in the TEREA catalogue. We have checked 27 of 27 Pearl lines and found a capsule in every one, so "Pearl" on the pack means a capsule inside.

Do not read it backwards, though: "Pearl means capsule" is reliable, but check anything that does not say Pearl.

Pearl line Base blend What the click releases Seen on
Oasis Pearl Balanced toasted, creamy, nutty Passion fruit with menthol Switzerland, Jordan, Kuwait
Twilight Pearl Robust toasted, malty Blueberry with menthol UK, Switzerland
Sun Pearl Tobacco base Watermelon with menthol Jordan, Kuwait
Abora Pearl Robust toasted, malty Green apple with menthol UK, Switzerland
Riviera Pearl Woody, light tea Raspberry with floral notes UK, Indonesia
Starling Pearl Tobacco base Basil and strawberry UK
Provence Pearl Tobacco base Grape with menthol UK

How do you read a TEREA name without looking anything up?

Read the name in two parts: the word tells you the family, the suffix tells you the mechanism. Get those right and you can decode a pack you have never seen.

This is the decoder we use when a customer describes a pack over the phone.

What you see on the pack What it signals
A warm colour or material word — Amber, Bronze, Russet, Teak Tobacco family. No cooling.
A cool colour word — Blue, Green, Turquoise Menthol family. Cooling, no fruit.
"Wave" in the name Fruit-menthol. Cooling plus fruit, all the way through.
"Pearl" in the name Capsule inside. Click it to release a second flavour.
"Black" at the front A market-specific line, associated with the Japanese range.
"Dimensions" in the name A distinct sub-line, on the Indonesian market site.
"Edition" in the name Often market-specific — in Indonesia, the clove line.

Which TEREA lines only exist in certain countries?

Several TEREA lines never leave the market they were made for. The Indonesian clove line is the clearest example — it does not appear on the UK, Swiss, Jordanian or Kuwaiti ranges at all.

  • The clove "Edition" line — Golden, Auburn, Emerald, Scarlet and Minago Edition among others, listed on the Indonesian market site.
  • The "Dimensions" sub-line — Apricity Dimensions and Yugen Dimensions, also on the Indonesian site.
  • The "Black" menthols — Black Green, Black Ruby and Black Purple, with a Japanese-market launch of Black Sunshine Menthol reported in the trade press.

A flavour name alone is therefore not enough to order confidently — one name can sit in several national ranges at once, which we cover in our guide to TEREA prices by origin.

Which devices do TEREA sticks fit?

TEREA sticks fit IQOS ILUMA and IQOS ILUMA i only. They do not fit the earlier blade-based IQOS ORIGINALS generation, and they do not fit BONDS by IQOS.

The reason is mechanical. A TEREA stick contains a metal heating element coated in stainless steel, and the ILUMA generation heats it by induction from inside the stick — there is no blade to insert a stick onto.

Three figures worth knowing:

  1. A pack holds 20 sticks.
  2. A carton holds 10 packs — 200 sticks.
  3. A stick runs up to 6 minutes or around 14 puffs, with the ILUMA i allowing up to four more.

Quick answers: what else do people ask?

How many TEREA flavour families are there?

Four: tobacco, menthol, fruit-menthol, and capsule. Every TEREA line sold in any market belongs to one of those four families, which is why the family is a more useful thing to know than the individual name.

Which TEREA family is the most intense?

The tobacco family, because roast and body are the entire character of the blend with nothing cooling competing for attention. Within that family, the malty and cocoa-noted lines such as Russet and Bronze sit at the heavier end.

Does every TEREA Pearl have a capsule?

Yes. We have confirmed a crush capsule on 27 of 27 Pearl lines, so the word "Pearl" on a pack reliably means there is a capsule inside. Do not read the rule backwards, though — check anything that does not say Pearl.

What is the difference between a "Wave" and a "Pearl"?

A Wave line carries fruit and menthol through the whole stick from the first puff. A Pearl line holds the second flavour in a capsule until you click it, so you control when it arrives.

Do TEREA sticks work with older IQOS devices?

No. TEREA fits IQOS ILUMA and ILUMA i only, and will not work with the earlier blade-based IQOS ORIGINALS generation or with BONDS by IQOS.

Why does the same TEREA name appear in several countries?

TEREA is produced for different national markets, and a given name can be listed in several of those markets at once. That means the name alone does not tell you which version you are buying, or what it should cost.

How many sticks are in a TEREA carton?

A carton holds 200 sticks — 10 packs of 20. That is the unit most regular buyers order in, and it is the unit our pricing is built around.

How long does one TEREA stick last?

Up to about 6 minutes, or roughly 14 puffs. The ILUMA i allows up to four additional puffs beyond that.

What should I try if I want cooling but not fruit?

Stay inside the menthol family rather than moving to a Wave or a Pearl. Blue, Green and Turquoise all deliver cooling without a fruit note carried through the stick.

Can you tell me which flavours you have in stock right now?

Yes — ask us before ordering. This guide covers the flavour families and naming conventions rather than our shelf, because stock in a instant delivery business changes through the day.
